fat kid tendencies, and an ode to marshmallows

my roommate (!!!) and i often discuss what we like to call our "fat kid tendencies." as in, if life was fair, we both would be morbidly obese, given our predilection for  eating anything and everything in our path.  i think the fact that i've had the nickname suma (as in the female version of a sumo wrestler) since i was a toddler speaks for this fact.  kristina, on the other hand, likes to tell the story of how she caught chicken pox when she came across a half-eaten donut and claimed the remnants as her afternoon snack.

so imagine my complete and utter lack of surprise when i came upon a piece of literary genius while packing up my room recently: my ode to marshmallows, written at the ripe old age of however old you  are in the 3rd grade.  i mean, check out that alliteration at the end...inspired.

soft and fluffy,
squishy between my fingers.
as sweet as cotton candy on my tongue.
reminds me of a cloud,
perfectly puffy.

bring on the pulitzer, people.
