i'm still recovering from my birthday. really and truly. granted, the only beverage i consumed all day had absinthe in it but that's a different story for a different day. i vowed to myself that i would capture the day through photographs and, looking back on the evidence, i'm realizing that the funny feeling in my stomach probably has little to do with getting older and a LOT to do with the massive quantities of food that i consumed.
a very special thanks to my family, emmalee, melania, emily, laura, and mike..you showed me an overwhelming amount of love, and my birthday would have been just another dull wednesday if i didn't have you to share it with. cliche, maybe, but it's the truth nonetheless.
i visited ladurée in paris on my 21st birthday and decided, with the first north american location newly-opened on the upper east side, to make a tradition of it.
my favorite part of the moma: the juxtaposition of classical architecture and modern art in the courtyard
inside a print & graphic design exhibit
the crisp africa falafel that john treated me to for lunch- north african peanut sauce, sweet potatoes, corn salad, cherry tomatoes, kidney beans, and habanero harissa. just call me fat and happy.
beckoning cats and ysl in the window of barneys...as if i needed an excuse
eclat chocolate from amy, named by eric ripert and bon appetit as one of the best chocolates in america and conveniently located in my very own west chester, pa
the camera died just in time for a walk through central park (complete with blooming trees and beds of tulips) and a fatty crab dinner of pork belly & crispy shrimp, fatty duck, arctic char with roasted cauliflower, a big ass brownie a la mode, and the perfect company.
if the first day of being 23 is any indication, i think i have a beautiful year ahead. i can't wait to see where it takes me and to share every delicious step with you.
