half of me is very impressed with the idea of people getting "real" jobs right out of college. charging into the work world, loosening their ties to the ATM machine affectionately known as mom & dad, 9 to 5, five days a week. the other, more cynical half of me has a fear of falling down that slippery slope, which almost inevitably leads to a mom haircut, kitten heels, and a dinner rotation that somehow involves bisquick. but i digress.
what i'm getting at is that being a professional anything is some tough shit. which is why i am particularly proud of laura, my sorta kinda fake cousin. not only is she doing that whole job thing, but she's doing it in arkansas. i know, right? you totally forgot that state even existed. the icing on this mid-western, tornado-ridden cake is that she's working for wal-mart, that beacon of luxuriousness and class. and while it sounds like an opportunity that was made to pass up (no help from me), it's actually quite the opposite. a graduate of penn state's supply chain program (the best in the country, toot toot), she's working for the company with the most efficient, game-changing supply chain in history. or something like that. dayum gina!
so, what better reason to throw a little partayyyyy,
