reading the little note inside my fortune cookie today, i couldn't help but think of bob. i've been thinking about him a lot lately, and it's the same image every time: teal zip-up, bald head, perched on the school steps, but in his own world. although we were more friends in passing than anything else, there was something about his quiet strength and sense of self that has stuck with me, long after we left rome and even still after his death.
